Hampton by Hilton on Birmingham's Broad Street was evacuated this morning after a fire alarm, leaving dozens of guests, including children, waiting outside in their pyjamas.
Three fire engines were dispatched to the scene following the alarm, which sounded at approximately 8am on Thursday, August 20. Two engines were positioned at the front of the property and one at the rear.
Fire crews respond to early morning alarm
A spokesperson for West Midlands Fire control confirmed that the first call came in at 8.04am. Firefighters were on site, but guests were not told when they would be allowed back inside the hotel.
The hotel, located next to Snobs nightclub on Broad Street, offers rooms from around £64 per night and is popular with gig-goers. It holds a four-out-of-five-star rating on TripAdvisor.

A statement on the hotel website highlights its proximity to major city centre attractions: “Our Broad Street hotel is within a half-mile of Utilita Arena, the ICC, the National SEA LIFE Centre, and restaurants. A spokesperson for Hilton has been approached for comment.
