A man has been rushed to hospital with potentially serious injuries after being struck by a car in Wolverhampton city centre. The incident occurred on Sunday, July 19, at approximately 3:47pm on Chapel Ash Island.
West Midlands Police sealed off a stretch of Chapel Ash following the collision. Social media images showed a black car within the cordoned area, indicating the vehicle involved remained at the scene.

Emergency services, including the Midlands Air Ambulance, responded swiftly to the call. A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson stated: "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Chapel Ash Island, Wolverhampton, at 3.47pm yesterday (Sunday). An ambulance, paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance responded."
The pedestrian was treated by medics at the scene before being conveyed to New Cross Hospital by land ambulance. The ambulance service described his injuries as potentially serious.
