A woman has tragically died following a two-car collision on Perton Lane in Stoke Edith, Herefordshire. The incident occurred on Tuesday, August 5, and prompted a large emergency response, including air ambulance support.
Emergency response and details of the crash
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the scene just after 2.30pm. Three ambulances, a paramedic officer, a BASICS doctor from the Mercia Accident Rescue Service, and a helicopter from the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity were dispatched to the location.
Upon arrival, crews discovered two cars involved in the collision and three patients. A woman, who was in the first car, had to be freed by firefighters before medics could attend to her. She had sustained serious injuries.
Medical efforts and tragic outcome
Ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life support to the woman. Despite their best efforts, it became apparent that nothing could be done to save her, and she was confirmed dead at the scene.
The other two patients, a man and a woman from the second car, were treated for injuries that are not believed to be serious. They were subsequently taken to Hereford County Hospital by land ambulance for further assessment.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival, crews discovered two cars that had been involved in the collision and three patients. A woman, from the first car, was freed with the help of fire service colleagues and found to have suffered serious injuries. Ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life support but sadly, despite their best efforts, it became apparent nothing could be done to save her and she was confirmed dead at the scene. A man and woman, from the second car, were treated for injuries not believed to be serious before being taken to Hereford County Hospital by land ambulance.”
