A woman has died following a medical emergency at an Asda superstore in the Black Country. The incident occurred at the store in St Lawrence Way, in the Darlaston area of Walsall, on August 18.
West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) received a call at 12:42pm and dispatched two ambulances, a paramedic officer, and the WMAS critical care car to the scene. Upon arrival, crews found the woman in a critical condition, being cared for by members of the public.
Ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life support, but despite their best efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 12.42pm to a medical emergency in Asda, St Lawrence Way in Darlaston. Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the WMAS critical care car attended the scene."
"Upon arrival ambulance staff found a woman in a critical condition being cared for by bystanders. They immediately began administering advanced life support to her. Sadly, it became clear that nothing more could be done to save her and she was confirmed deceased at the scene."
