New Nottingham Wellbeing Group Launches for Parents of Teens
Parents' Wellbeing Gatherings Launch in Nottingham

A new initiative offering crucial support to parents navigating the challenges of raising pre-teens and teenagers has launched in Nottingham. Bridge Builders Wellbeing is starting the new year by introducing Parents' Wellbeing Gatherings, a monthly programme designed to provide a much-needed community for local mums and dads.

A Supportive Space for Parents

Recognising that parents often pour their energy into supporting their children's growth and mental health while neglecting their own needs, the gatherings aim to offer that same gentle care in return. The programme acknowledges the common struggle of juggling work, family, and endless to-do lists, emphasising that parents do not have to manage these pressures in silence.

The format will be varied and accessible, mixing cosy events organised by Bridge Builders Wellbeing – such as coffee mornings, gentle walks, or mindfulness sessions – with explorations of other wonderful wellbeing events already happening across Nottingham town. The goal is to provide shared experiences that feel both uplifting and easy to attend.

First Event: A Relaxed Coffee Morning with Expert Insight

The inaugural gathering will be a relaxed coffee morning hosted by Bridge Builders Wellbeing. It is scheduled for Friday, January 23, starting at 10.30am, and will be held at the Café in Nottingham Central Library.

This first session will feature a special guest, Sehrish Sarwar, the founder of NeuralTrance Therapy Ltd. As a certified elite life coach and hypnotherapist, Sarwar is dedicated to guiding individuals toward personal empowerment, helping them rediscover confidence, calm, and clarity amid life's everyday chaos.

During the event, she will share gentle insights and create space for relaxed conversation, offering a lovely way for parents to start the year feeling supported. Spaces are limited, and interested parents are asked to reserve a spot by filling in a short Google Form.

Ongoing Community and WhatsApp Groups

For parents seeking ongoing connection, Bridge Builders Wellbeing also facilitates a friendly Nottingham Parents of Pre-Teens and Teens WhatsApp Community. This group is a space to share tips, wins, and those urgent "help!" moments with others who understand.

Bridge Builders currently runs two distinct groups within this community:

  • Skills Building: A forum to share ideas about the practical side of parenting teens, including chores, screen-time rules, independence, study habits, and responsibility.
  • Wellbeing Boosting: A calm, supportive corner for discussions around anxiety, stress, self-care (for both parent and teen), big feelings, mental health, and emotional growth.

Parents are warmly welcomed to join either or both groups, as the organisation aims to support them throughout their parenting journey. The launch of the monthly gatherings marks a significant expansion of this supportive network, directly addressing parental wellbeing in the Nottingham community.
