Disaronno Recall: Glass Fragments Found in Popular Liqueur
Disaronno Recalled Over Glass Contamination Risk

A major product recall has been issued for a popular Italian liqueur after food safety inspectors discovered a potential contamination risk. Disaronno Originale is being pulled from shelves due to the possible presence of small pieces of glass in some bottles.

Urgent Safety Alert and Affected Batches

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has identified the safety issue, prompting the manufacturer, Illva Saronno S.p.A, to initiate the recall. The affected product is the 700ml bottle of Disaronno Originale. Consumers are urged to check their bottles immediately against the following batch codes:

  • 25374
  • 25375
  • 25381
  • 25382
  • 25435
  • 25442
  • 25444

The FSA has stated that products bearing these codes are unsafe to drink and must not be consumed.

What Consumers Must Do

The official recall notice instructs anyone who has purchased a bottle from the impacted batches to return it to the point of purchase for a full refund. For further information, customers can contact the company directly by emailing contatti@illva.com.

This action in the United Kingdom follows an identical recall that was announced in the Republic of Ireland earlier in the week, highlighting the seriousness of the contamination risk.

Recent Product Safety Concerns

This is not the only product safety alert issued recently. The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has also published a separate recall concerning a B&M cream mug with a green fir tree print (product code 42491).

The OPSS warned that the mug's base may crack and break when filled with hot liquid, presenting a risk of burns. The product, sold in UK stores between August 23 and November 14, fails to meet the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.

Owners of this mug are advised to stop using it immediately and return it to any B&M store. The retailer has reiterated the alert and asked customers with questions to contact its service line on 0330 838 9000.
