Ten Birmingham residents have been named in the King's Birthday Honours List 2026, an annual celebration of extraordinary individuals and their contributions to the United Kingdom. Honours are awarded by the King on the advice of the Prime Minister and senior government ministers.
Honours Ceremony
Recipients will receive their titles from King Charles, Prince William, or Princess Anne at Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, or the Palace of Holyroodhouse. They can choose their date and location but will not know which royal will preside.
Birmingham Honourees
- Dr Beverly Isadore Lindsay - DBE, Chair, Association of Jamaican Nationals UK. For services to the West Midlands and charity.
- Professor Monder Ram - CBE, Founder and Director, Centre for Research in Ethnic Minority Entrepreneurship. For services to ethnic minority business.
- Colin Everton Blair - OBE, Foster Carer, Birmingham Children's Trust. For services to foster care.
- Mandy Blair - OBE, Foster Carer, Birmingham Children's Trust. For services to foster care.
- Tony Day - OBE, Principal and CEO, Joseph Chamberlain Sixth Form College. For services to education.
- Professor Mohamed Wasim Hanif - OBE, Clinical Advisor, Diabetes UK and Professor at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. For services to diabetes and health inequalities.
- Tahira Ali - MBE, Foster Carer, Birmingham Children's Trust. For services to foster care.
- Karen Elizabeth Canner - MBE, Lately Honours Secretary and Chair, Supporting the Workplace in Menopause Staff Network, Ministry of Justice. For public service.
- Dakshesh Harivadan Parikh - MBE, Lately Consultant Paediatric Surgeon, Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust. For services to paediatric surgery.
- Alan Eric Grigg - BEM, Area President, St John Ambulance. For voluntary services to the community in Solihull.
