Katie Price has confirmed that her husband, Lee Andrews, has been located and is safe after being reported missing in Dubai. Andrews claimed he was arrested on suspicion of espionage and detained at the city's notorious Al Awir prison.
The self-proclaimed millionaire was reported missing on May 17, five days after he was last seen. Katie stated, "I have found him – he is alive, and he is okay." She expressed her relief and concern, adding that Andrews told her authorities suspected him of being a spy.
According to reports, Andrews was arrested on May 14 after he failed to board a flight to the UK. Prior to his arrest, he had moved his belongings from his rented apartment and briefly stayed with his father in Dubai. He is expected to be released on Monday after paying a four-figure fine.
Katie initially informed fans that her husband had been kidnapped, based on a disturbing FaceTime call where Andrews claimed he was in a van with his hands bound. She filed a missing person report, and the Criminal Investigation Department in the United Arab Emirates became involved.
It has been alleged that Andrews was being sought by Interpol, but a source told the Mirror that this is not the case. Hertfordshire Police clarified that they received a report in March but referred the case to relevant authorities as the alleged offenses occurred in Dubai.
Katie had previously shared text messages from Andrews' phone, including one that read, "Been arrested, I'll be in touch." She also disclosed that location services on his phone were disabled, leading her to believe he might have been kidnapped.
Andrews' family expressed frustration with Katie's public statements. His mother, Trisha Andrews, criticized her in a social media post. A family friend noted that Andrews' sister Kelly is taking charge of communication with authorities and trying to support her mother.
