Automatic Payment Eligibility and Required Claims
You are not required to submit a claim if you currently receive any of the following benefits:
- State Pension
- Pension Credit
- Universal Credit
- Attendance Allowance
- Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
- Carer’s Allowance
- Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
The comprehensive list of benefits that exempt you from needing to claim extends to include:
- Income Support
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
- Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
- Awards from the War Pensions Scheme
- Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit
- Incapacity Benefit
- Industrial Death Benefit
However, if you do not receive any of the benefits listed above, you must submit a claim if you have never previously received a Winter Fuel Payment.
