DWP Confirms PIP, ESA, and Attendance Allowance Payment Change for Friday
DWP Confirms PIP, ESA, and Attendance Allowance Change

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has confirmed that some claimants of Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Employment and Support Allowance (ESA), and Attendance Allowance will receive their payments on an unusual date this Friday, May 22.

This change is due to the upcoming bank holiday on Monday, May 25. The DWP does not process payments on bank holidays, so affected households will receive their money early, on Friday instead.

Only those whose usual payment date falls on the bank holiday itself will be impacted. All other claimants will continue to receive their payments as normal.

The same adjustment applies to other DWP benefits, including the State Pension and Universal Credit.

What This Means for Claimants

It is important for affected households to be aware of the early payment so they can budget accordingly. They may need to adjust their financial plans to ensure that bills and other commitments are covered.

Claimants should also note that the early payment means the money will need to last until the next scheduled payment date. However, the DWP pays benefits early to prevent any delays, ensuring that households have access to their funds ahead of time rather than waiting longer.
