Approximately 16 firefighters are on the scene, with four fire crews in attendance. The blaze has prompted the closure of Frankley Lane to ensure safety and facilitate emergency operations.

West Midlands Fire Service (WMFS) stated: "We have four crews in attendance on Frankley Lane, Bartley Green, where they have responded to a grass fire. Please avoid the area, where possible as Frankley Lane is currently closed."

Councillors Bruce Lines and Kerry Brewer, who run the In Touch With Bartley Green Facebook group, confirmed that Frankley Lane has been blocked off by emergency services at Merritts Hill. They advised: "Please take extra care on Frankley Lane. Fire crews are currently on scene working to contain a fire."
