Morrisons has pulled a snack from its shelves due to concerns that some packets may contain glass fragments. The supermarket chain is recalling its Savers Cashews over potential contamination.

The recall applies to 125g packs with best before dates of August 9, 2026; September 6, 2026; September 26, 2026; September 28, 2026; or October 9, 2026. Point-of-sale notices will be displayed in all stores selling the nuts.
The notice states: "As a precaution, Morrisons is recalling Savers Cashews 125g... as there is a risk some packs may contain glass. Please do not eat this product and return it to your nearest store for a full refund. We don't need a receipt. Other products are not affected by this issue. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and assure customers of our continuing commitment to the highest standard of product quality and safety."
Food Standards Agency Guidance
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) explained that when a food product is deemed unfit for sale, it may either be 'withdrawn' (removed from shelves) or 'recalled' (whereby customers are requested to return the item). The FSA issues Product Recall Information Notices to alert consumers and local authorities to issues associated with food products.
A spokesperson for the FSA said: "If you have bought the above product do not consume it. Instead, return it to the nearest store for a full refund." In certain circumstances, a 'Food Alert for Action' is issued, providing local authorities with details of specific measures to be taken on behalf of consumers.
Customers who have purchased the affected packs are urged not to eat them and to return them to any Morrisons store for a full refund, with no receipt required. No other products are affected by this recall.
