Sainsbury's has confirmed that shoppers buying sweetcorn, peppers, mushrooms and mangoes will pay half price with Nectar Prices from Friday 28 August to Monday 31 August. The supermarket, which has branches in Birmingham, hopes the discounts will "make it easier to enjoy fresh seasonal favourites for less, whether getting together with family and friends over the long weekend or planning delicious family meals."
Which items are included in the half-price offer?
The selected fruit and vegetables covered by the promotion are sweetcorn, peppers, mushrooms and mangoes. Existing Nectar customers can save by scanning their Nectar card at the checkout in store, while online shoppers will have the discount applied automatically if their Nectar and Sainsbury's accounts are linked.
Those who are not yet Nectar members can sign up by downloading the Nectar app or visiting the Nectar website.
Specific deals and prices for Nectar customers
Among the deals available, by Sainsbury's Sweetcorn Single Cob is now 35p with Nectar, compared with 70p without Nectar. Taste the Difference Red Sweet Pointed Pepper is priced at 37p with Nectar, down from 75p without Nectar.
by Sainsbury's White Large Flat Vitamin D Mushrooms 250g costs 62p with Nectar, equivalent to £2.48 per kilogram, against £1.25 without Nectar (£5.00 per kilogram). by Sainsbury's Giant Mango is 75p with Nectar, half the £1.50 price for non-Nectar shoppers.
Additional value offers across the weekly shop
Alongside the half-price Nectar Prices on fruit and vegetables, Sainsbury's is also offering hundreds of Aldi Price Match products across everyday essentials. The supermarket said this makes it easier for customers to find great value throughout their weekly shop.
Richard Crampton, Commercial Director for Fresh and Convenience at Sainsbury's, said: "We know customers are looking for great value without compromising on the quality of the food they bring home. That's why we're offering half-price Nectar Prices on selected fruit and vegetables, making it easier to put fresh, nutritious food on the table over the Bank Holiday weekend and beyond."
The promotion runs for four days, from Friday 28 August to Monday 31 August, covering the August Bank Holiday weekend.
