Reform UK Demolishes Labour in Wolverhampton Local Elections
Reform UK Wins 12 Seats in Wolverhampton Election

Labour suffered crushing losses in Wolverhampton as Reform UK claimed 12 of the 21 council seats up for grabs, becoming the majority opposition group on the council. The ruling Labour group lost a total of 10 seats to Reform, who also took the vacant seat in Wednesfield South, vacated by former Labour mayor Greg Brackenbridge, and claimed one from the Conservatives.

Labour now holds 34 seats, Reform UK has 14, the Conservatives are down to 10, and two independents make up the rest of the 60-seat authority. A high-profile casualty came in the Fallings Park ward, where Labour's Chris Burden, Cabinet Member for City Development, Jobs and Skills, lost his seat to Reform's Stu Goldsmith.

The city's outgoing mayor, Craig Collingwood, narrowly held his Park seat for Labour with 1,089 votes, just 43 more than the Green Party's Mohammed Naseem, after a recount. There was also a recount in Tettenhall Regis, where Conservative Sohail Khan retained his seat by a narrow margin of 37 votes ahead of Reform's Theresa D'Cruze.
