During the November 24th episode, campmates Alex Scott and Shona McGarty found themselves in the hot seat when they were confronted about suspected smuggled items. The stars were informed they wouldn't receive their dinner until any contraband was handed over to the rest of the camp.
Former sportswoman Alex reluctantly revealed she had been hiding a small sachet of salt, confessing she had been secretly adding it to their meals each evening. However, it was Shona's revelation that truly stunned both campmates and viewers alike when she produced an entire can of air freshener that she'd been keeping hidden in the dunny.

As camp leader, Aitch addressed the situation, expressing that he didn't want the camp to feel disappointed with their comrades since both items had been used for the benefit of everyone. However, the timing proved particularly unfortunate as Aitch had won 11 stars in that day's Bushtucker Trial, only for the camp to lose a star's worth of food from their meal as punishment for the contraband.

Declan Donnelly explained: "I actually know where she got it, she nicked it from a trial... well we think, we don't know for sure but we think she nicked it from a trial."
While this clarified the origin of the air freshener, it still left unanswered how the EastEnders actress managed to conceal the item all the way back to camp without detection. In contrast, producers believe Alex Scott obtained her salt sachets from the hotel where contestants stay before entering the jungle, hiding them in her personal belongings.
