Kelly Brook's closest friend has revealed the television personality's biggest fear ahead of her stint in the I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! jungle, while simultaneously predicting she will be a huge hit with the public.
Pre-Jungle Preparations: A Sausage Roll Strategy
Toby Anstis, Kelly's colleague on Heart radio, shared intimate details of her unconventional preparation for the ITV show. Contrary to typical fitness regimes, Brook's strategy involved indulging in comfort food. Anstis recounted a recent encounter, stating he last saw her taking a bite of a sausage roll.
He revealed her unique justification for this diet, quoting her as saying, 'Toby, I'm getting ready for starving in camp.' Anstis, who himself participated in the show back in 2006, admitted he offered contrasting advice, suggesting she should be training her stomach to crave less food. He was quick to add, however, that this junk food indulgence was a treat and that Kelly generally maintains a healthy diet.
This approach marks a departure from her original plan, which involved hitting the gym and going on hikes. Kelly later confessed she had abandoned this rigorous training in favour of 'fattening myself up in the run-up' to the jungle experience.
The 'Worst Nightmare' and Final Three Forecast
Despite her unusual preparation, Toby Anstis is backing his friend for success. He confidently tipped the 'bonkers' and 'eccentric' star to reach the final three of the competition, predicting she would be alongside Martin Kemp and 'Angry Ginge'.
His belief stems from her captivating personality, which he describes as 'funny, quirky and eccentric.' He elaborated, 'She is sort of an old soul on young shoulders. She is quite wise, that kind of eccentricity. She's brilliant and slightly bonkers at the same time.' He is convinced the British public will warm to her quickly.
However, Anstis expressed a significant concern, identifying the notorious eating trials as Kelly Brook's 'worst nightmare'. He disclosed that when she questioned him about his own jungle experience, her main worry was the prospect of having to consume 'those horrible things'. He confessed she was fervently hoping to avoid such challenges.
Embracing Confidence and Curves
Before entering the camp, Kelly Brook also addressed her body confidence, making a pledge to viewers. She vowed to use the iconic jungle shower and urged audiences to embrace her figure, acknowledging she has faced online criticism about her appearance.
The 46-year-old model and actress stated, 'Obviously, I am not a 20-year-old bikini model anymore. You know, life changes and your body changes.' She expressed hope that people would be accepting of how she looks now, rather than comparing her to her younger self.
Demonstrating a powerful sense of self-acceptance, Kelly confirmed she has fully embraced her curves. She highlighted her fitness, proudly mentioning that she ran a marathon this year. She concluded with a confident message: 'I feel really confident. I feel like my body is in good shape. I just feel great. I am 46, I embrace my curves. I embrace my body...so I am proud of that.'
