Solihull golf club seeks to turn putting green into 20-space car park
Golf club plans 20-space car park from old putting green

Four Ashes Golf Centre in Dorridge has submitted a new planning application to Solihull Council to convert a redundant putting green into a visitor car park. The proposal, lodged on August 14, includes a layout plan showing the old putting green, no longer in use, transformed into a parking area for 20 cars and four bicycles.

Details of the application

The application contains few details beyond the car park layout, but it indicates the new parking area will sit adjacent to the recently constructed padel courts. The golf club, based on Four Ashes Road, previously applied to build three padel courts last year. As the Local Democracy Reporting Service reported, Solihull planners approved those courts to allow visitors to play one of the fastest growing sports in the country.

The golf centre is a long-established business centred on a driving range built in the early 1980s. The facility also offers an 18-hole crazy golf course, a cafe/bar, and a golf shop.
