Range Rover crashes into Aston house
An investigation is underway after a Range Rover was rammed into the front of a terraced house in Birmingham. The driver of a black 4x4 was filmed reversing into the property on Nelson Road, Aston, around 4.50am on Saturday, July 18. No one was inside at the time, but the bay window, door, and walls sustained extensive damage.
Emergency response and structural damage
West Midlands Fire Service dispatched a technical rescue crew alongside regular firefighters to the scene. They spent nearly 11 hours making the building safe. The property was boarded up, and West Midlands Police confirmed they are reviewing CCTV footage as part of the investigation.
Police stated: "We were called at around 4.45am on Saturday to Nelson Road, Birmingham, after a car was driven into the front of a house. Thankfully no one was seriously injured but significant damage has been caused to the address. We are reviewing CCTV footage and making enquiries as part of our investigation."
Fire service details
The fire service reported: "Shortly before 4.50am on Saturday, July 18, we responded to Nelson Road, Aston. Three fire engines from Perry Barr, Ward End, and Sutton Coldfield attended, alongside a crew of our technical rescue firefighters. A car had collided with a house, impacting the door and a bay window. There was no one inside the property at the time of impact. Working with a structural engineer, firefighters shored up the brickwork to make the building safe."
Nelson Road at the junction of Trinity Road was closed during the operation. The final fire crew left the scene at 2.36pm, with police still in attendance. Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting 20/329215/26.
