Rossendale Council Lists New Planning Applications

Rossendale Borough Council has registered a series of planning applications for the week ending Friday, July 3. The proposals include residential extensions, alterations to listed buildings, and access improvements across Rawtenstall, Haslingden, Bacup, and surrounding areas.

Balcony and Access Improvements

One application seeks permission to extend the balcony area at Mickledore, located on Haslingden Old Road in Rawtenstall. Meanwhile, a separate proposal at 1295 Burnley Road, Loveclough, aims to extend a dropped kerb by an additional 4.7 metres to improve vehicle access to the driveway.

Listed Building Consent and Householder Extensions

Listed building consent has been requested for sandblasting and re-pointing of the main house and cottage at Bridge End Farm, Dean Lane, Water. The work would affect the historic fabric of the Grade II listed building.

Several householder extensions are also proposed. A single-storey rear extension is planned at 14 Mayfield Avenue, Haslingden. At 44 Kirkhill Avenue, Haslingden, the applicant wants to convert the existing garage into a games room, including adding internal stairs from the hallway. Another rear single-storey extension is proposed at 7 Cribden Street, Rawtenstall.

Kitchen Extension and Discharge of Conditions

In Bacup, a proposed kitchen extension at 4 Christ Church Street would be constructed of materials to match the existing building. Additionally, a discharge of conditions application has been submitted for The Business Centre at Futures Park, Bacup. This relates to Condition 15 (Phases 1 and 2, Construction Management Plan) and Condition 20 (Construction Surface Water Management Plan) under planning approval 2025/0378.

Residents can view full details of these applications on the Rossendale Borough Council planning portal. The council encourages public comments during the consultation period.
