Birmingham's courts have sentenced a string of violent criminals to lengthy prison terms during April 2026, with cases ranging from domestic violence to murder.
Michael Povey: Life for Murder
Michael Povey received life imprisonment with a minimum 20-year term for murdering Lee Baker by deliberately driving his BMW into him in Rednal. The 29-year-old had lied to emergency services claiming his car was stolen.
Raju Mollah: Attempted Murder of Wife
Raju Mollah was jailed for 26 years after being found guilty of attempting to murder his wife by pouring hot cooking oil over her head and attacking her with a red-hot skillet in their Small Heath home.
Jordan Herring: Pushed Teen from Tower
Jordan Herring received five years for pushing his teenage girlfriend Bobbie Goodman out of a fourth-floor tower block window in Chelmsley Wood. The 18-year-old victim suffered broken ribs, pelvis and spine injuries plus two collapsed lungs.
