Birmingham City's 2026/27 Championship season will kick off with a televised away match against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Saturday, August 15 at 5:30pm, live on Sky Sports. The club's first home fixture follows a week later against Bristol City, who were the last visitors to St Andrew's @ Knighthead Park in the Championship back in April.
Hollywood Derby and Local Rivalries
The highly anticipated 'Hollywood Derby' against Wrexham will take place at St Andrew's on Saturday, August 29 at 3pm, though this fixture may be moved for television coverage. The return leg at the Racecourse Ground is scheduled for Saturday, April 17.
Wolves visit St Andrew's on Saturday, September 5 at 3pm, with the reverse fixture at Molineux set for April 10. The first West Bromwich Albion derby of the season will be away on October 10 at 3pm, following the first international break, while the Baggies travel to Birmingham on February 27.
Festive Period and Season Finale
Blues will travel to Blackburn Rovers on Boxing Day, facing former manager Tony Mowbray at Ewood Park. This ends a three-year run of home games on Boxing Day. The final match of 2026 is at home against Cardiff City on December 29, followed by a New Year's Day fixture hosting Portsmouth.
The last away game of the season is at Watford on Saturday, April 24 at 3pm. Birmingham City conclude the campaign at home to Burnley on Saturday, May 1 at 12:30pm.
