Aston Villa defender Victor Lindelöf has dismissed any talk of returning to Swedish football, insisting he does not see himself playing in the Allsvenskan in the future. The Sweden international, who is preparing for the World Cup, has one year left on his contract at Villa Park.
European Success
Lindelöf played a key role in Unai Emery's side that lifted the Europa League trophy, Villa's first major silverware in 30 years. When asked about the possibility of finishing his career in his homeland, as many Swedish players have done, Lindelöf responded: "I don't think so. I don't see myself coming home to the Allsvenskan and playing. I've never played there, so it would be fun, but if I know myself right, I don't think it's possible."
Pain-Free Boost
The 31-year-old joined Aston Villa on a free transfer from Manchester United last summer, following a spell plagued by injuries at Old Trafford. However, he has enjoyed a resurgence at Villa, stating: "My body feels good, so I have a good feeling. I have played with constant pain before, so being pain-free gives an extra boost."
Lindelöf's performances have been instrumental in Villa's successful campaign, and he remains focused on continuing his career at the highest level rather than returning to Sweden.
