Twenty young people from across Caerphilly County Borough recently enjoyed a golf day at Celtic Manor Resort.
The event, organised by Cae Menai-Davis and The Golf Trust, was part of The G4D Open with support from Sport Caerphilly. It brought together pupils with additional learning needs (ALN) from Trinity Fields School, based at Heolddu Comprehensive School and St Cenydd School, giving them the opportunity to experience golf in a fun, welcoming and supportive environment.
Throughout the day, the pupils took part in a range of golf activities, developing new skills, building confidence and enjoying the experience of playing golf at the renowned resort. Sport Caerphilly worked alongside partners to support the opportunity and help ensure local pupils could take part, reflecting a shared commitment to making sport and physical activity accessible to all.

Cllr Chris Morgan, Cabinet Member for Sport and Leisure, said: "Opportunities like this can have a lasting impact on young people, giving them the chance to try something new, develop confidence and enjoy being active. We're grateful to Cae Menai-Davis and The Golf Trust for helping to provide this experience for local pupils."
Cllr Carol Andrews, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Education, Communities and Transformation, commented: "We want all young people to have access to opportunities that help them learn, grow and build confidence. This was a fantastic experience for the pupils involved and I am pleased they were able to enjoy a day that many will remember for years to come."
The event supports the aims of the Sport and Active Recreation Strategy 2019-2029, which is committed to creating opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to participate in sport and physical activity across Caerphilly County Borough.
