Manchester meet sees City of Liverpool dominate
At the Manchester meet, the City of Liverpool team was well represented as the season reaches its climax. Harry Prothero led the way with seven gold medals and two silvers, achieving a number of personal bests. Dylan Harte also posted several personal bests, finishing with three golds and four silvers. James Grant claimed gold in both the 100m and 200m Backstroke, setting two of his four personal bests.
Sasha McNabb returned home with a gold and two silvers, while Tess Coles and Zerrin Bentham both added a gold, a silver, and a bronze to their collections. Jessica Cooper helped herself to a gold and a silver. A personal best helped Olivia Hood to gold in the 400m Freestyle, with a bronze in the 100m Freestyle. Sophie Lutas struck gold in the 100m Backstroke, adding a bronze from the 100m Freestyle. Her brother Samuel Lutas finished the weekend with a silver and three bronzes.
Chibwe Bukenya added two silvers and two bronzes to his cabinet, and Edie Leung increased her medal haul with two silvers. In the breaststroke events, Ffion Sinnott took bronze in each distance, and there were bronze medals for Abigail Park, Lucas Sharratt, and Poppy Read.
Bebington and Hoylake meet draws large field
In Liverpool, the Bebington and Hoylake meet attracted a huge number of entrants from throughout the county and the Isle of Man. Amanda Henrys-Gil provided the inspiration for Hoylake, with six golds, a silver, and a bronze. Millie Webster posted three personal bests while claiming four gold medals. Roxanne Ford, Matty Wentworth, and Emily Niccolls headed an array of medal winners.
Sophia Hewlett and Matthew Keane led the way for co-hosts Bebington, along with Elliott Leadham and Grace Ebbrell. Esme Delmaine collected three golds, two silvers, and three bronzes in her first Long Course meet. Bridgefield were prominent, with Niko Dorsz getting his hands on seven golds and two silvers. Lucas Sharratt continued his good form with five golds, and there were three golds for Amy Horsfield. Scott Austin, Bethany Turner, and Millie Sharratt were also in the medals.
Formby’s Caira Garlock led from the front with five golds and a silver, closely followed by Jessica Cooper who also amassed five golds. Jasmine Callaghan, Annie Carter, Evelyn Carter, Ewan Spencer-Willman, and Thomas Balshaw were also in the medals.
Spencer Foggo was in great form for Woodchurch, picking up six golds and a silver. He had good support from Oscar Jones who took a gold, three silvers, and a bronze. Ivan Gately also collected two silvers and three bronzes, while Harriet Simcox took bronze in the 100m Breaststroke. City of Liverpool’s Anthony Welsh rounded a great season with several personal bests, taking home a gold, a silver, and four bronzes. Forrest Hopley of Garston completed his season with a number of personal bests among a gold, two silvers, and two bronzes.
