Jet2 Adds Copenhagen to Christmas Market Routes from Birmingham for 2026
Jet2's New Copenhagen Christmas Route from Birmingham

Holidaymakers in the Midlands are set for a new festive destination, as airline and tour operator Jet2 has unveiled a brand-new Christmas market route from Birmingham Airport.

A Fairytale Festive Addition

The Danish capital, Copenhagen, will join Jet2's winter schedule for the first time in Winter 2026/2027. This exciting addition means the carrier will offer flights and holidays to no less than eight enchanting Christmas market cities from Birmingham during that season.

The new services will operate on Thursdays and Sundays, running from 19 November to 20 December 2026. This schedule is perfectly timed for weekend breaks, allowing travellers to immerse themselves in the city's famous festive atmosphere.

Exploring Copenhagen's Christmas Charm

Jet2 has described Copenhagen as the "ultimate fairytale playground" for a whimsical winter escape. Travellers can look forward to exploring the iconic, colourful Nyhavn canal with its annual market, and experiencing the magical ice-skating and festive lights of the world-renowned Tivoli Gardens.

With this new route, Copenhagen will sit alongside other popular Christmas market destinations on Jet2's roster from Birmingham, including Budapest, Cologne, Gdansk, Krakow, Prague, Tallinn, and Vienna. Flights and packages will be available from November 2026 through to January 2027.

Responding to High Demand

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, stated that the expansion is a direct response to continued strong demand from customers and independent travel agents seeking European winter wonderlands. He expressed delight at offering holidaymakers even more choice for their festive breaks.

Travellers can book a flight-only option with Jet2.com or opt for an ATOL-protected package holiday through Jet2CityBreaks, which simplifies planning for a short city break.

Al Titterington, Terminal Operations Director at Birmingham Airport, welcomed the news, expressing confidence that the route to the Danish capital would prove popular with customers looking to explore its magical markets and festive attractions.

This strategic move by Jet2 significantly boosts the range of direct, seasonal leisure travel available from the UK's Midlands region, catering to the growing appetite for specialised festive experiences abroad.
