Kadan Young Joins Annecy on Season-Long Loan

Aston Villa have confirmed that academy graduate Kadan Young will spend the 2025-26 season on loan at French Ligue 2 side Annecy. The 20-year-old winger joins teammate Zepiqueno Redmond, who also moved to the club on a temporary deal.

Loan Details and Previous Experience

Young's move to Annecy marks his third loan spell away from Villa Park. He previously spent time with Royal Antwerp in Belgium and Reading in League One. The club announced the deal in a statement, saying: “Aston Villa can confirm that Kadan Young has joined Annecy on a season-long loan. The academy graduate heads to France after a previous loan stint on the continent with Royal Antwerp in Belgium.”

Young made his senior debut for Villa in 2024 and made one appearance last season, providing the assist for the winning goal against RB Salzburg. He then spent the remainder of the campaign at Reading, where he gained valuable first-team experience in League One.

Connection Through V Sports

Annecy has a minority stake held by V Sports, Aston Villa's holding company, which has facilitated the loan moves for both Young and Redmond. The arrangement allows Villa to develop their young talents in a competitive European league while maintaining close oversight.

Young's loan is expected to provide him with regular playing time in Ligue 2, where he can continue his development under the guidance of Annecy's coaching staff. The move also strengthens ties between the two clubs, with potential for future player exchanges.
