Pret A Manger has announced the opening of its first-ever drive-thru location in the UK, marking a significant milestone for the popular sandwich chain. The new outlet is situated in Warrington, near Junction 21 of the M6 motorway, and is designed to cater to motorists traveling across the North West.

Drive-Thru Features

Spanning over 2,000 square feet, the drive-thru includes an indoor seating area capable of accommodating up to 48 customers. Additional amenities include electric vehicle charging stations and customer bathrooms. The ordering system features a single lane with a digital menu for efficient service.

Growth Strategy

Ross Warnes, President of Pret UK & Ireland, commented on the expansion: "Travel hubs and roadside locations present a huge growth opportunity for Pret. This is about meeting customers where they are, while continuing to deliver the same freshly made food and service." Jack Tindall, Head of Food Service Operations at Motor Fuel Group, added: "We're incredibly proud to be part of launching this new format for Pret and look forward to serving the Warrington community."

Spring Menu Launch

The drive-thru opening coincides with the launch of Pret's biggest menu update in years, which took effect on April 28. The new spring menu features higher protein options and the introduction of Large-size barista-made drinks. Briony Raven, Chief Food & Coffee Officer at Pret, explained: "We wanted this menu to offer more of what customers are looking for right now. Building on the success of our Super Plates, we've introduced more protein choices, more substantial options, and great-tasting food and drink made fresh."
