Ryanair's New Hand Luggage Policy: Two Free Baby Items for Passengers
Ryanair allows two free carry-on baby items

Ryanair has announced a significant update to its hand luggage policy, specifically designed to make travelling with young children easier and more affordable.

What's Included in the Free Allowance

The budget carrier confirmed that passengers can now bring two items of carry-on baby equipment at no extra cost. This welcome change applies to essential items such as a pushchair or buggy, a car seat, a booster seat, or a travel cot.

Ryanair provided clear instructions for passengers wishing to use this new allowance. The items will need to be tagged, either at the airport check-in desk or directly at the boarding gate. Parents and guardians can typically use their pushchair right up to the steps of the aircraft.

On arrival, the equipment may be returned at the aircraft steps or will be available for collection in the baggage hall. The airline advises travellers to check with ground staff as they disembark to confirm the local procedure.

Milestone for Birmingham Airport Operations

The policy update coincides with Ryanair marking a major operational milestone. The airline, which styles itself as Europe's number one carrier, revealed it has now flown 35 million passengers through Birmingham Airport since services began there in 1987.

To celebrate, Ryanair's Director of Communications, Jade Kirwan, highlighted the airline's ongoing commitment to the region. "This significant milestone showcases Ryanair’s continued support and investment in the region, delivering important connectivity, traffic, tourism, jobs, and economic growth," Kirwan stated.

Robust Winter Schedule from Birmingham

Passengers from the Midlands hub have a wide range of destinations to choose from this season. For the Winter 2025 schedule, Ryanair is operating 346 weekly flights across 37 routes to and from Birmingham Airport.

The extensive network includes popular winter sun hotspots like Alicante, Faro, and Malta. For those seeking a city break, top destinations include Berlin, Poznań, and the Finnish winter wonderland of Rovaniemi.

Flights for this winter season are available to book now on Ryanair's website, with fares from Birmingham starting from as little as £29.99.
