Jet2 confirms 4.30pm-9pm Twilight Check-in at Birmingham

Jet2 has confirmed a 4.30pm to 9pm check-in rule for passengers using its Twilight Check-in service at Birmingham Airport and 11 other UK airports. The service allows travellers flying before midday to drop off their hold luggage the evening before departure, provided they have already checked in online.

The airline said in a statement: "With our free Twilight Check-in service, you can drop your bags off at your UK departure airport between 16:30-21:00 the evening before your morning flight." It added: "Thanks to Twilight Check-in, when you arrive at departures the next day, your luggage is already sorted. If you live near the airport or are staying at a hotel close by, it'll make your morning a little bit easier."

How Twilight Check-in works

To use the service, passengers must check in online any time from 28 days and no later than 24 hours before their flight, via the Jet2 website or app. The airline confirmed: "Sound good? Remember, to use Twilight Check-in, you must check in online any time from 28 days and no later than 24 hours before your flight, via our website or app."

Jet2 offers Twilight Check-in seven days a week for passengers booked on flights departing before midday from the following UK airports: Birmingham, Bristol, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow International, Leeds Bradford, Liverpool, London Gatwick, London Luton, London Stansted, Manchester, and Newcastle.

Rules for additional passengers and mobility aids

The airline clarified that anyone added after the booking is confirmed receives a separate booking reference number. They must check in separately to drop off their own baggage, as it cannot be combined with passengers travelling under different booking references.

Twilight Check-in is available for Assisted Travel customers. However, if a passenger is travelling with their own mobility aid, such as a wheelchair or an Electric Mobility Device (EMD), these items cannot be checked in during Twilight Check-in and must be checked in on the day of travel.

Hand luggage not required

Jet2, which operates flights from Birmingham, also confirmed that passengers do not need to bring hand luggage when using this service. The policy is designed to streamline the morning departure process, particularly for those living near the airport or staying in nearby hotels.
