Rail passengers warned of reduced service Sunday

West Midlands Railway has warned passengers of a reduced service this Sunday, July 26, due to engineering works taking place between Wolverhampton and Shifnal. The disruption will affect train services between Shrewsbury and Birmingham New Street until 7pm.

Service Changes and Replacement Buses

According to a West Midlands Railway spokesperson, engineering works are occurring between Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton on Sunday 26 July, resulting in a reduced service. Until 7pm, train services between Shrewsbury and Birmingham New Street will only run between Shrewsbury and Shifnal. Rail replacement buses will operate between Telford Central and Wolverhampton. Customers are advised to travel on other West Midlands Railway or London Northwestern Railway services between Wolverhampton and Birmingham New Street.

Further Disruption Next Week

Rail passengers using West Midlands Railway and London Northwestern Railway services also face further disruption next week. A significantly reduced service will be in place as members of the TSSA trade union walk out on Friday, July 31 and Saturday, August 1.
