EasyJet Summer Pledge for 50 Million Passengers

EasyJet and easyJet holidays have introduced a new 'book with confidence' pledge for summer holidays, covering more than 50 million seats. Under the promise, the airline has committed to operating its full summer schedule from Birmingham and other airports.

Key Guarantees for Passengers

EasyJet has guaranteed that prices for both flights and package holidays will not increase after booking. EasyJet holidays continues to offer its 'ultimate flexibility' policy, allowing changes up to 28 days before departure. Customers can cancel up to 60 days in advance, with deposits returned as credit and additional payments refunded up to 28 days before travel.

Industry Reactions

EasyJet holidays CEO Garry Wilson said: 'Now is an ideal time to book and take advantage of a range of brilliant holidays at unbeatable prices with the added security that ultimate flexibility also allows customers to change their plans with ease if required.'

Caspar Nelson, of On the Beach, noted that its immediate refund pledge meant customers could 'get back to looking forward to their summer instead of worrying about it.'

EasyJet said the travel industry was seeing later bookings amid heightened uncertainty. Kenton Jarvis, the airline's chief executive, said: 'We understand that global events may affect travellers' confidence at the moment, but we believe that everyone has a right to book their flights and holidays with confidence.'

Julia Lo Bue-Said, chief executive of Advantage Travel Partnership, welcomed the 'bold, positive messages' from travel firms to help convert 'strong browsing into bookings.' She said: 'The feedback from our travel agents is that consumers are desperate to go away, but the headlines don't help; the appetite is there but the noise does create some uncertainty.'

Mark Tanzer, chief executive of Abta, added: 'We're keen to assure people that travel is still going ahead, and holidaymakers are getting away on their trips.'
