Jet2 Confirms Group Luggage Pooling Rule

Jet2 has clarified its luggage allowance policy for passengers traveling in groups. The airline, which operates from Birmingham and other UK airports including East Midlands, responded to a holidaymaker on X (formerly Twitter) who inquired about baggage rules for group bookings.

Group Luggage Pooling Allowed

The passenger explained they had a group booking for 10 people, each with 22kg of checked luggage included, and asked: “If one person is over does all the weight pool together or does everyone individual need to be 22kg?” Jet2 replied: “Yes you are able to pool your luggage providing you do not go over your overall weight limit and no one bag weighs more than 32kg.”

When the passenger followed up asking if one person would not be charged if their case was slightly overweight while others were under, Jet2 confirmed: “That's correct.” The airline added: “If one bag is slightly over, but others are under, you will still have room within your overall allowance and will not be charged.”

New Destination Announcement

In other news, Jet2 has announced a new summer 2027 destination from Leeds Bradford Airport: Tivat, Montenegro. Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2, said: “Just a week after announcing two new destinations from Leeds Bradford Airport for Summer 2027, we are delighted to be offering holidaymakers in Yorkshire even more good news after putting flights and holidays on sale to Tivat. The introduction of exclusive services to Tivat from the airport means that we are operating direct flights to Montenegro for the first time for customers in the region. With stunning scenery, a wonderful climate, and fantastic resorts such as Budva and Becici on offer, we are expecting this destination to be hugely popular with holidaymakers. Yet again, Jet2 is giving holidaymakers and independent travel agents even more choice and flexibility when it comes to booking our award-winning flights and holidays.”

The latest announcement marks the first time the country of Montenegro will have services directly operating from Leeds Bradford Airport and the Yorkshire region. We are delighted to be able to give customers more choice and convenience when flying to their next holiday destination.”
