Ryanair has confirmed that passengers can now carry two items onto flights completely free of charge. All passenger fare types include a small personal bag, which must fit under the seat in front of you. The airline also allows two free carry-on baby equipment items, such as a pushchair or car seat, which must be tagged at check-in or boarding.
What Items Are Included?
The small personal bag must measure no more than 40 x 30 x 20 cm. For those needing additional baggage allowance, Ryanair offers various options. The Priority & 2 Cabin Bags policy allows a small personal bag plus a 10kg bag (55x40x20cm) to be stored in the overhead locker, along with priority boarding.
Baby Equipment Policy
Ryanair stated: "Ryanair allows two free carry-on baby equipment items, such as a pushchair or car seat, which must be tagged at check-in or boarding. Only forward-facing car seats (max width 17 inches/43 cm) approved for air and motor vehicle use are permitted. Extra baby equipment can be checked in for a fee."
"You can bring two items of carry-on baby equipment for free. This can include a pushchair/buggy, car seat, booster seat or travel cot. These will need to be tagged at the check-in desk or at the boarding gate."
"You will be able to use your pushchair/buggy until you get to the steps of the aircraft. Depending on your arrival airport you may find it at the steps of the aircraft or in the arrival's baggage hall. Check with the ground staff as you disembark the aircraft."
If a car seat is brought for an infant under two years old and the parent wishes the child to sit in it during the flight, an extra seat must be booked for the infant.
Additional Baggage Options
If a small bag is not sufficient and Priority & 2 Cabin Bags is sold out, passengers can still add a 10kg Check-in Bag to their booking. However, this bag must be dropped at the airport check-in desk before going through security.
