Birmingham's Rain to Briefly Halt This Weekend Before Returning
Birmingham Rain Break This Weekend, But Not for Long

Birmingham's Persistent Rain Set for a Brief Weekend Pause

After enduring daily rainfall throughout 2026, residents of Birmingham can finally anticipate a temporary break from the wet conditions. According to the latest forecast from the Met Office, a drier and brighter day is on the horizon for the city this weekend, though this respite is expected to be short-lived.

Detailed Weekend Weather Outlook

Tonight, on February 12, showery outbreaks will continue, with rain becoming more extensive later in the night and some heavier bursts possible towards dawn. On Friday, outbreaks of rain, sleet, and hill snow will clear south during the day, followed by sunny spells.

The real change comes on Saturday, when the Met Office predicts a drier and brighter day. Currently, clear skies are forecast from 8am to 3pm, providing a welcome reprieve from the recent deluge. Skies will turn overcast from 4pm onwards, but the clouds are expected to be white for a change.

Return of Unsettled Conditions

However, this break will not last long. The weather authority warns that rain and hill snow risk returns on Sunday, as temperatures recover. They add that Monday will be unsettled with a mixture of sunny spells and showers.

Looking ahead to Tuesday, February 17, WX Charts indicates a 237-mile band of snow appearing over England, stretching from Cumbria down to the West Midlands and East Midlands region. This could bring approximately 2.8cm (1.1in) of snow to Birmingham at 6pm that day, alongside 5.4mm of rain at the same time.

This forecast highlights the ongoing variability in Birmingham's weather, with residents advised to enjoy the brief dry spell while preparing for the return of wet and potentially snowy conditions early next week.
