Footpath Closure in Ingatestone
Footpath 47 (Little Hyde Lane), Ingatestone & Fryerning, will be closed from the top of the ramp on the north side of the A12 underpass for approximately 30 metres. The closure runs from August 17 to August 31 2026, with the order duration up to 6 months if required. The reason is installation of a temporary crossover and a new water connection. A diversion will be on the carriageway, with local signs in place.
Road Closures in Little Warley and Ingatestone
Bird Lane, Little Warley, will be closed from the junction with Magpie Lane to the opposite junction with Magpie Lane, approximately 110 metres. The closure is scheduled from September 7 2026 for 3 days, subject to a valid permit NK103DIS172268-1 (Virgin Media). The order is in force from August 19 2026 for up to 18 months. The reason is chamber construction works by Virgin Media. The diversion is via Magpie Lane and vice versa.
Pine Drive, Ingatestone, will be closed approximately 30 metres north west of the junction with Pine Close for about 65 metres. The closure is from September 8 2026 for 7 days, subject to permit EN013348988 (Essex and Suffolk Water). The order is in force from August 19 2026 for up to 18 months. The reason is new connection works by Essex and Suffolk Water. The diversion is via Pine Drive, Pine Close, Park Drive and High Street.
Mountnessing Closures and Diversions
Old Church Lane and Mountnessing Road, Mountnessing, will be closed. Old Church Lane from its junction with Mountnessing Road for approximately 255 metres north west, and Mountnessing Road from its junction with Old Church Lane for approximately 85 metres south west. The closures are from August 25 2026 for 15 days, subject to permits BC311003WGRHDV5V and BC311004WGRHDV5V (Openreach). The order is in force from August 5 2026 for up to 18 months. The reason is duct laying works by Openreach. Diversions are signed routes via Old Church Lane, Old Church Road, Church Road, Stock Lane, Ingatestone Road (Buttsbury) and Mountnessing Road; or via Mountnessing Road, Radford Way, B1007 and Ingatestone Road (Buttsbury).

Works are planned with on-site signage, and dates may vary depending on weather and permitting. Access arrangements are managed locally by the works promoter and traffic management team. The council states they are necessary for public and workforce safety while utility providers carry out water connection, ducting and chamber construction works.
