Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash after a man was injured in Birmingham. West Midlands Police said the pedestrian, a man in his 30s, suffered leg injuries in a collision with a van off Pershore Road in Stirchley after 10pm on Thursday, May 14. The man was taken to hospital, and the van failed to stop at the scene.
The incident occurred on Mayfield Road, near the junction with Pershore Road and Ivy Road. The van was later recovered on nearby Prince Road and is being examined by forensic teams. Police are reviewing CCTV and social media footage to establish the full circumstances.
Police appeal for information
West Midlands Police said: "We're investigating after a collision involving a van and a pedestrian in Stirchley last night. The pedestrian, a man in his 30s, suffered leg injuries and remains in hospital today. The van failed to stop but was recovered on Prince Road and is now being examined." No arrests have been made, and inquiries are ongoing.

Ambulance service response
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called to reports of a collision between a van and pedestrian at the junction of Pershore Road and Ivy Road at 10.16pm. One ambulance attended. On arrival we discovered one patient, a man, who was the pedestrian. He was treated for serious injuries, not believed to be life-threatening, before being taken to hospital."
The investigation continues as police work to identify the driver and the full sequence of events leading to the collision.
