Warwickshire Police have launched a public appeal for information following a fatal road traffic collision on the M42 motorway that claimed the life of a motorcyclist.
Tragic Incident on Junction 10 Slip Road
The serious incident occurred at approximately 11pm on Tuesday, 4th February 2026, on the slip road near junction 10 for Tamworth. Emergency services were called to reports of a collision between a tractor pulling a trailer and a motorbike on the roundabout connecting the M42 and the A5.
Emergency Response and Fatal Outcome
West Midlands Ambulance Service dispatched two ambulances and a paramedic officer to the scene, arriving at 11.09pm. Despite the rapid response from medical professionals, the male rider, described as a Tamworth resident in his forties, was pronounced deceased at the location.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service provided further details, stating: "On arrival crews discovered a motorbike and a tractor that had been in collision and one patient, a man who was from the motorbike. Sadly, upon assessment by ambulance staff, it quickly became apparent there were no other patients. And he was confirmed dead at the scene."

The police statement reads: "Just after 11pm last night, 4 February, we attended a report of a collision between a tractor pulling a trailer and a motorbike on the junction 10 roundabout for the M42 and A5. Sadly, the rider of the bike, a Tamworth man in his forties, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Our thoughts are with his loved ones and friends."
