In a statement, a spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "We are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Shropshire yesterday evening (Tuesday 11 August). Officers were called to the A41, Newport bypass from the Pickmere roundabout at around 10.55pm following reports of a collision involving a Porsche Taycan and a tractor towing a flatbed trailer."

The spokesperson added: "Sadly, the driver of the Porsche, a man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been made aware and are being supported by specially trained officers. A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving."
