Emergency Response to A4117 Collision
Six people sustained injuries following a serious road traffic collision between a single-decker bus and a car on the A4117 in Shropshire. The incident occurred in Cleobury Mortimer shortly before 6.00pm on Tuesday, November 11, prompting a significant emergency service response after several 999 calls were received.
Scene Assessment and Hospitalisations
Ambulance crews from the West Midlands Ambulance Service were dispatched to the scene, where they discovered the two vehicles involved. Medical professionals provided immediate treatment to a number of individuals at the roadside. Three people were subsequently transported to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for further medical attention.
The hospitalised individuals included the male bus driver, as well as the driver and a passenger from the car. The car's occupants were confirmed to be a woman and a girl, both of whom were treated for injuries not believed to be serious before being conveyed to the hospital for precautionary checks.
Passengers Treated and Discharged
In a positive development amidst the emergency, three passengers from the bus were assessed and treated by ambulance staff directly at the location. Following this medical assessment, all three were deemed fit to be discharged from the scene, avoiding the need for a hospital visit.
