Solihull E-Scooter Rider Seriously Injured in Crash

A man in his 30s suffered potentially serious injuries after falling from an e-scooter in Solihull in the early hours of Thursday, July 9. The incident occurred on Windward Way, Smith's Wood, at approximately 3.30am.

Emergency Response and Hospitalisation

West Midlands Ambulance Service dispatched two ambulances, a paramedic officer, a trauma doctor with a critical care paramedic, and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire critical care car to the scene. A spokeswoman confirmed they were called at 3.01am. Upon arrival, crews treated the man, who was in a serious condition, before conveying him under emergency driving conditions to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for further treatment.

Police Investigation and Appeal

West Midlands Police cordoned off the area for investigation. A police spokesperson said: "We were called to Windward Way, Smith's Wood, at around 3.30am on Thursday to reports a man had come off an e-scooter. The man in his 30s was taken to hospital with potentially serious injuries, and our enquiries are continuing."
