Fire crews are tackling a large blaze in Willenhall after a van fire spread to nearby buildings, trees, and foliage, with witnesses reporting 'massive flames' and unconfirmed reports that an old pie factory is now alight.

West Midlands Fire Service was called to John Street, at the junction with Leve Lane, shortly after 7pm on Tuesday, August 4, following initial reports of a 'large van fire'. Four fire crews from Willenhall, Bilston, Wednesbury, and Walsall were dispatched to the scene.
The fire service confirmed that the flames had spread to 'buildings, trees and foliage', and urged the public to avoid the area. In a social media post, they said: "We have four crews in attendance at John Street, Willenhall, where they have responded to a fire. Please avoid the area, where possible."
Witness reports and possible pie factory
Almost two hours after the initial call, crews remained at the scene dealing with the incident. Witness Lesley Wall described the scene: "Just drove past it flames massive. Stay safe."
Unconfirmed comments under the fire service's post suggest that the fire has now taken hold in an 'old pie factory'. This is believed to be the former TC Morris factory, a traditional pork pie producer that relocated from Willenhall to a purpose-built facility on Blackbrook Industrial Estate, Narrowboat Way, Dudley, in 2024.

The number of fire crews has not been increased, but the four units remain actively engaged in firefighting operations. West Midlands Fire Service has not yet provided an update on the cause of the fire or any potential injuries.
