Vehicle Found in Fatal Birmingham Hit-and-Run

Police have recovered a vehicle suspected of being involved in a fatal hit-and-run collision that killed a man in Birmingham. Shaun Harron, 44, tragically died in hospital after being struck by a brown Vauxhall Astra in the early hours of April 26.

The collision occurred at the junction of Romsley Road and Adams Hill in Bartley Green shortly after 12:30am. The driver did not stop and fled in the direction of Jiggins Lane. Mr Harron was treated at the scene by paramedics and rushed to hospital, where he later passed away.

Police Investigation Update

Detectives have been conducting door-to-door inquiries and reviewing CCTV footage to trace the driver. This evening, West Midlands Police confirmed that officers have recovered a car believed to be linked to the incident. The vehicle will now undergo forensic examination.

A force spokesperson said: "We can confirm we have now recovered a car suspected of being linked to this incident, and this will be examined. We are still appealing for anyone with information or footage to please get in touch as we continue to investigate."

Appeal for Witnesses

Sgt Rich Evans from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit added: "Tragically Shaun Harron has lost his life after being struck by a car which did not then stop, and our thoughts are with his loved ones at this terrible time. We'd also ask anyone who was in the area or may have dashcam footage as they drove through at around the time of the collision, to get in contact."
