Midlands Tax Dodgers Named: Firm Owes £1.4M

HMRC has publicly named several West Midlands businesses for failing to pay tax, with one Oldbury firm owing nearly £1.4 million. The taxman releases details of companies that owe at least £25,000 as a warning to others and to encourage engagement.

Peak Performance Trading Owes £1.39 Million

Peak Performance Trading, a treadmill seller based on Rood End Road, Oldbury, owes £1,390,577 in unpaid tax for 2024. HMRC ordered the company to repay £939,192.

Building Firm Hit with £428,000 Bill

Petrut Eftime, a building firm on Newhampton Road West, Wolverhampton, failed to pay £428,747 in tax between April 2021 and April 2025. It received a penalty of £300,123.

Haulage Company Named

Armann Transport, formerly of Neachells Lane, Wolverhampton, owes £172,346 from April 2021 to April 2024. The company must repay £109,871.

Convenience Store and Others

Super Super Market, a convenience store formerly on Alum Rock Road, Birmingham, owes £117,928 from January 2021 to March 2023 and October to December 2023. A penalty of £76,558 was imposed. Rehone, a film production company on Bradford Street, Birmingham, failed to pay £88,574 between August 2022 and October 2023, ordered to repay £75,622. Londongranite, a stonemason on Stratford Road, Sparkhill, owes £60,167 from October to November 2024, with a repayment order of £47,560.

HMRC's Stance

HMRC stated that those named had "deliberately got their tax affairs wrong" and were hit with significant penalties. The public list aims to deter others and recover debts.
