Sandwich Sandwich, the Bristol-born chain known for its giant, generously filled sandwiches, will open its first Birmingham store on Thursday, October 22 on Temple Street. To mark the launch, the first 500 customers from 12pm will receive a free sandwich, and the chain will also hand out merchandise and a special 'black card' at random.
Cult favourite arrives in the city centre
The chain, which already operates seven other sites, has built a reputation for serving large portions and a wide range of options, from breakfast baps to loaded sandwiches with fillings such as roast beef, coronation chicken and chicken kyiv. Customers at its existing locations frequently praise the "excellent food" and the substantial quantity they receive.
Founder Nick Kleiner described the Birmingham opening as a "hugely proud moment" for the family business. "Opening our first Birmingham store is a hugely proud moment for me and for everyone at Sandwich Sandwich as we’ve poured our hearts into building this family business," he said.

Kleiner emphasised the brand's ambitions in the city, saying: "Birmingham is a city with a big appetite and a brilliant food scene, and we can’t wait to be part of it. We’re coming with generous sandwiches, bold flavours and a team determined to make its mark in the community. This is a big moment for us, and we’re only getting started."
Beyond the walk-in store, Sandwich Sandwich will also launch corporate catering services, aiming to serve office workers across the city.
