Work is underway to transform the former Red By Night nightclub unit at The Waterfront into the Stripey Oss Music Venue and Bar, a new venue that will showcase Black Country talent and serve traditional local food.
The venue, located on the Waterfront at Merry Hill, will feature singers and bands from the Black Country while offering dishes such as grey peas and faggots. The conversion of the unit is currently in progress.
New Tenant Announced at The Waterfront
A spokesperson for The Waterfront confirmed the arrival of the new tenant, saying: “Exciting news - we have a new tenant coming to The Waterfront.”
“We’re excited to welcome The Stripey Oss Micro Bar to Waterfront Dudley! Coming soon to the front of the Waterfront, right next door to Tuk Tuk Thai, Stripey Oss will be bringing something new to the Waterfront for everyone to enjoy and keeping the Black Country alive!”
“We can’t wait to see them open their doors and become part of the Waterfront community!”
Owners and Previous Venue History
The new establishment will be run by the owners of The Stripey Oss Micro Bar in Upper Gornal, extending their presence in the area.
The former Red By Night nightclub closed on New Year's Eve, with the owners citing rising costs and falling spending as the reasons for closure. Since 2019, the site had hosted a range of events, from DJ nights to live musicians and performers.
The opening of the Stripey Oss Music Venue and Bar marks a new chapter for the unit, bringing a fresh food and drink offering to The Waterfront while continuing the site's tradition of live entertainment.
