Scheduled for Saturday, May 16, this annual event allows participants to raise funds for a chosen ward or department at Southend Hospital, Basildon Hospital, or Broomfield Hospital. Now in its 11th year, Tackle the Tower has seen 676 individuals raise over £270,000 since its inception, demonstrating significant community support for hospital enhancements.

Elise Fleetwood, events and corporate relations manager at Mid and South Essex Hospitals Charity, emphasized the importance of the fundraiser. "The money raised by the brilliant people taking part will make a world of difference," she said. "It helps us provide extra services and facilities for our patients, families, and staff across our hospitals. Whether you love an adrenaline rush or simply want to give back in a meaningful way, this annual challenge offers a unique opportunity to make a real impact."

The event is open to anyone aged 14 and over, with all necessary equipment provided on the day to ensure safety and accessibility. Registration costs £50, and participants are required to meet a minimum fundraising target of £100.
