A team of 65 charity abseilers have raised over £22,000 for Hope House Tŷ Gobaith children’s hospices. The brave participants descended the iconic 89ft tall Marquis of Anglesey Column in Llanfairpwll. With attendees traveling from as far as Yorkshire, generous sponsorship from local businesses, and favorable weather, the event proved highly successful.
Organiser's Reaction
Hospice fundraiser and event organiser Nikki Sullivan expressed her delight: "Wow, what a day! We are incredibly proud of our brave Anglesey abseilers and so grateful for the money they have raised." She extended thanks to sponsors including Hogan, Mona Lifting, Dragon Security, Môn Fire Management, and Howdens, as well as Go Vertical for their professionalism in ensuring the event ran smoothly.
Personal Tributes
Among the participants was April Collin, who abseiled with her son Nico and friend Hannah in memory of her late son Craig Collin. Jodie from local recruitment specialists Supertemps also took part and was reunited with her dog afterwards.
Sullivan added: "Every penny raised will go directly to help us provide care and respite to local families and children living with a life-threatening condition. We can’t thank the venue enough either for their generosity and delicious food. You’re all amazing."
