Beaumont College Staff and Students Complete 21-Mile Walk in Memory of Beloved Student
Beaumont College Walk Raises £2,500 for Epilepsy Society

Staff and students from Beaumont College South Lakes have successfully completed a 21-mile walk to raise funds in memory of a much-loved student. The team participated in the annual Coniston to Barrow Walk on May 9, supporting the Epilepsy Society and honoring their friend, Bradley.

The challenging route took the group from Coniston Primary School to Hawcoat Park Sports Club, winding through the scenic South-West Lake District and across the Furness Peninsula. Colleagues and supporters cheered the walkers on at various roadside points throughout the demanding day.

Fundraising Success

Each team member organized their own activities to contribute to the fundraising total, which has already surpassed £2,500. Principal Lorraine Jones expressed pride in the team's effort, stating: "We are incredibly proud of everybody who took part in this year’s Coniston to Barrow Walk. It was a fantastic team effort involving staff, students and supporters from across the college community."

She added: "The event was especially meaningful as we were raising money in memory of Bradley, who remains very much in our thoughts – we’ve raised more than £2,500 so far. The support we have received from people locally has been greatly appreciated, and the team did an amazing job completing such a demanding challenge."

Remembering Bradley

Abi Buckingham, a participant, shared: "Bradley was a student who, despite having epilepsy, didn’t let it stop him learning and not only captured the hearts of staff but made many friends in college. Bradley is the reason why we began this journey together and as a team we will do this for him and the Epilepsy Society."

Donations can still be made to the cause through the team’s official fundraising page. The college community continues to hold Bradley in their thoughts as they celebrate this impressive achievement.
