Birmingham Family's Urgent Plea for Son Fighting for Life in Thailand
Birmingham Family Pleads for Son's Life in Thailand

The family of Ethan Lacey, a 20-year-old from Castle Vale, Birmingham, is urgently appealing for financial support after he was critically injured in a truck accident in Thailand.

Critical Condition

Ethan suffered severe head injuries after falling from a moving pickup truck at a busy Pattaya intersection and was then run over by the vehicle's rear wheel. The driver allegedly fled the scene without stopping to help.

His grandmother, Anthea Chatwin, has launched a GoFundMe appeal as Ethan's travel insurance has "unfortunately run out." She said: "Ethan has a 30% chance of survival if kept on life support for two weeks."

Financial Burden

Doctors are demanding between £800 and £1,000 a day to keep him in hospital. "We really need help and support from everyone who can," Anthea pleaded.

The family lost contact with Ethan on May 15 and traced him to a hospital ICU several days later. So far, they have raised just over £2,100 towards his life-saving treatment.
