A charity football match will take place at Aveley Football Club on Saturday, July 11, in memory of Thurrock student Henry Nowak, who tragically died in December.

The Henry Nowak Memorial Match will feature well-known personalities alongside friends, family, and members of the local community, who will come together to celebrate his life and legacy. Henry, who was in his first year at university studying Accountancy and Finance, was described as a much-loved son, brother, grandson, teammate and friend, known for his kindness and ability to bring people together. He was also a keen footballer.
Fundraising for 2wish
In the months since his death, nearly £50,000 has already been raised in his honour for 2wish, which supports families who have experienced the sudden loss of a child or young person.
Event Details
The memorial match will be staged at Aveley FC, with a 3,500-capacity crowd expected. Organisers say the day will be about more than football, acting as a moment of unity, remembrance and community support. Location: Aveley, South Ockendon.
